Take The Roof Off Winter Creative Expressions Contest 2012

An opportunity for children ages 5 to 12 to be creative! All you have to do is draw or sketch a picture about playing and being active outdoors in the winter means to you!

A random draw will take place on March 29, 2012. The winner receives a great gift bag valued at $150 from Canadian Tire!

Everyone who enters will receive a Take the Roof Off Winter certificate.

Make your own toque!

Here are some instructions for making a “homemade” Take the Roof off Winter Toque.

1. Cut polar fleece across the width of material (you can feel the stretch as this goes around the head.
2. Hem the bottom approximately 3-4 inches. This gives you a cuff to fold up.
3. Hem the side of toque. This can be done with a serger or hem with a regular sewing machine.
4. Cut fringes approximately 6 inches – in the top
5. Tie fringes with a strip of polar fleece.
